In February, 2014 we were awarded the Home Builder Care Award by the Home Builders Association Foundation. This award recognizes an outstanding single family residential project that has impacted the lives of those with disabilities or special needs and the West Michigan community.
Since we are a Design/Build remodeling company that has been in business for over 25 years, we have specialized in many ADA remodels. In 2013 we had the honor of working with a local family whose 6 year old son, Alec, had been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This degenerative disease had already taken Alec’s ability to walk but his family, with the help of the Morris Builders team, was not about to let the disease take his freedom.
Teaming up with local organizations, friends and family, we were able to help cut down costs during the remodel. The total project included a remodeled ADA compliant bathroom, an enlarged bedroom, a new ADA ramp in the garage and a new ADA ramp leading to the backyard.
This project was a very rewarding experience for the Morris Builders team. Alec and his family were amazing to work with and well deserving of their communities support. We are so proud of the completed project aesthetics and more importantly of the safety and accessibility of Alec.
Thank you Lundy family for allowing Morris Builders to be part of this project and thank you to the Home Builders Association Foundation for this much appreciated award.
